Adding to the already huge weekend for Mad Catz and Western Wolves at EVOLUTION 2012, the eSports side of Western Wolves scored a tremendous victory in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare at the Qnatek Summer Battle! More information about the win comes courtesy of westernwolves.com:

Against all odds, after struggling so much and nearly being knocked-out in several occasions, Western Wolves managed to claim yet another title. Brilliantly kicking off the first half, and then unexpectedly dropping their performance to an uncommonly lower level arose nervousness among the supporters, who nevertheless kept their heads high, and never lost faith in the team’s eminence. A nail-biting journey, with many suspense and emotions, culminates on a positive note.

Thrilling comeback from the lower brackets, that put the Wolves back up against the old Czech veterans from TCM Gaming in the grand finals. One map down, our frag-machines needed to make a tremendous effort in order to seal the deal, and end as the victors of the Qnatek Summer Battle, one of COD’s most prestigious events in its history.

A true roller-coaster series, where it was genuinely impossible to predict a final winner. WW.COD4, confidently picking up the first side on Backlot, pulled a considerable advantage going 9-3 on their favour. However, the opponent slowly but surely started making ground, drawing it to 10-10. Our boys interpreted it as a sign, and released the gaming beasts within them, rampaging the following 3 rounds without pity. Moving onto the next map, Crossfire, the game was brought yet again to the same equal scoreline, with the Wolves riding an incredible momentum. Key team-play caught TCM off guard at the final moments, with our members profiting from every minor mistake of the rivals. The “GG” call appeared on chat, and the whole pack jumped out of joy on stage, as they won a total amount of 2000€.
