The fighting game community recently descended upon Manchester, England for the 8th edition of the European Gaming League (EGL8), and the Western Wolves‘ English fighters came to play, proving to be in top-notch form throughout the entire weekend.

Andreas “Hands” Demetriou, Femi “F-Word” Adeboye, and Ryan “Prodigal Son” Hart proudly raised the Western Wolves’ blue-and-grey flag in Manchester. The three men entered the competition in high spirits, craving to claim glory on home soil and played well.

On the Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Ver. 2012 front, the Mad Catz and Western Wolves team managed to take three of the top five places. Andreas “Hands” Demetriou took 5th place, Femi “F-Word” Adeboye took 4th, and team captain Ryan Hart claimed the silver medal.

However, in the Street Fighter X Tekken 2v2 competition the duo of Ryan Hart and Andreas convincingly took the top spot.

EGL8 was also the proving ground for the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary European Master Series. This competition is considered a UK qualifier for the main European event in Paris. Andreas “Hands” Demetriou, claimed his ticket to Paris after successfully advancing to the grand finals along with CG.Problem X.

Ryan Hart showed once again why he’s still one of the most revered figures in the international fighting game scene. The English veteran grabbed the TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 and King of Fighters XIII championships in impressive fashion, adding two more trophies to his seemingly never-ending list of achievements.
