Curitiba, Brazil is not just the home of some of the best mixed martial arts fighters in the world, it is also the home of Treta Armageddon, one of Brazil’s major fighting-game tournaments. Competitors from all over Brazil were in attendance, not to mention special guests from around the world. From the United States, there was ComboFiend; from Taiwan, AVerMedia’s GamerBee (2nd Place at EVOLUTION 2012 in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012); and from Japan, Mad Catz’ Hajime “TOKIDO the Muderface” Taniguchi.

The event featured some great match-ups between local players, many of whom would go on to receive their first experience against high-level international competition. However, the weekend belonged to TOKIDO, who managed an astonishing four different first-place finishes! TOKIDO finished first in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012, King of Fighters XIII, SOULCALIBUR V, and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and managed a second-place finish in Street Fighter X Tekken, where GamerBee took the top honors.
