| GameShark for GBA , GBA SP and GBA Micro
|
| Q: |
I used too many codes and now my Gameshark SP does not work. Can this be fixed? |
| A: |
You must have access to a working GBA Gameshark cartridge for this to work. If you don't know somebody who has a Gameshark you can borrow, contact Tech Support. You can make arrangements to mail your defective cartridge in so they can clone it for you. (Your only charge for this service, the same as any other product that qualifies for warranty service{proof of purchase and RMA# [this # can only be generated by Mad Catz Tech Support] has been issued} is one way postage of the defective product to Mad Catz)
You will be placing the broken one into the one that works:
1. Insert the working Gameshark cartridge into the GBA system.
2. Insert the malfunctioning Gameshark cartridge into the working Gameshark where the game cartridge normally goes.
3. Insert any GBA game into the malfunctioning Gameshark.
4. Set the switch to “ON” on both Gameshark cartridges.
5. PRESS and HOLD down the [L], [A], and [Start] buttons on the GBA.
6. WHILE HOLDING DOWN the buttons above, switch on the GBA.
7. A menu screen should appear a few seconds after turning on the GBA giving you the option to clone the device. You can let go of the 3 buttons held at this time.
8. Follow the instructions given on the GBA screen to clone and reset the crashed GBA Gameshark. When instructed to turn the "target" off and then back on, the program is referrring to the defective unit.
The procedure above will make an exact duplicate of the Gameshark cloned, so any new information added to the malfunctioning Gameshark before the crash will have to be added again.
To avoid this issue in the future, do not turn on all of the codes for any particular game, especially the Pokeman series. From the main menu of the Gameshark, after you have found your game from the list, press to the right with your directional pad. This will expand the list of codes for that game. Go through the list and hit A on the name of the codes you want to use, choosing no more than 10.
