James Bardolph contributed this report from Bushido Impact International:

The second annual Bushido Impact International in Paris, France, saw a collection of international players invade Paris from the UK, Holland, and Switzerland. The tournament was stacked with such household names as Mad Catz and Western WolvesRyan “Prodigal Son” Hart, Mad Catz and WatchDaMatch‘s Luffy, CG.Problem X, the ever-dangerous Easyman, and many more. In the Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012  tournament, Mad Catz and WatchDaMatch‘s V-Ryu sent both Luffy and Ryan Hart to the losers’ bracket on his way to the Grand Final.

In particular, V-Ryu’s match against Ryan Hart was amazing back and forth, with a brilliant display of Ryan’s lightning-quick reactions. Definitely a contender for match of the year. In the losers’ bracket, Ryan Hart finally got the better of Luffy in a tournament setting, sending him crashing out of the tournament in an extremely tense loser’s final match. In the Grand Final, V-Ryu once again got the better of Ryan to take first place and a brand new TRITTON Warhead 7.1 Wireless Surround Headset for Xbox 360!

In the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3  tournament, the French faced an imposing invasion from a large contingent of UK Marvel  players, including recent national champion Darkhadou, and a player previously most famous for his 8-bit UMVC3  themes, MrBulbaMike. Also in attendance was top Dutch player, Takari, who came to cause havoc with his Iron Fist team. Defending French waters were World Games Cup 2012 champion CDV WhiteBl4ck, Callime, and a small contingency of players from Lille. The tournament saw players struggle to cope with BulbaMike’s Haggar/Modok/Shuma-Gorath team. He eliminated DarkHadou 3-0, and then won a close match with Callime 3-2, then 3-0′d Gon to face WhiteBl4ck in the winner’s finals.

On the other side of the bracket, CDV WhiteBl4ck left a pile of bodies before him, winning every match 3-0 to make it into winner’s finals to face MrBulbaMike. WhiteBl4ck showed his mastery of the throw game with a dominating 3-0 victory over Mike, booting him into loser’s finals to face Takari. Mike defeated Takari to face WhiteBl4ck once again, but the WGC champion was just too strong for him. WhiteBl4ck’s tournament victory awarded him a TRITTON Primer Wireless Stereo Headset for Xbox 360. Can anyone in Europe stop him at the moment?

Sunday saw the Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012  2v2 tournament, and another extremely strong showing from Western WolvesRyan “Prodigal Son” Hart & Western Wolves‘ Andreas. The team won every match through to and including the Grand Finals 2-0, with Andreas not even having to play! Ryan once again defeated Luffy in the Grand Finals and exacted revenge on V-Ryu to win the tournament. Ryan and Andreas each walked away with TRITTON Detonator Stereo Headsets for their troubles.

TRITTON Primer Wireless Stereo Headsets were once again standard on the stream setup, enjoyed by all players lucky enough to play on the stream. In addition to the prizes awarded to the winners, four tournament entrants were selected at random to win a Street Fighter X Tekken  FightStick. Even if you didn’t win on the day you still had a chance of winning some goodies from Mad Catz! The prizes were presented by Abou of Bushido Impact.
