Assembly Summer 2012, the highlight of Finnish eSports, kicked off with a bang at Hartwell Arena in Helsinki, Finland this past weekend. Mad Catz was on the scene with a small but potent force, proudly displaying our PC products, previewing Damage Inc. Pacific Squadron WWII, and following the Western Wolves in the ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty tournament.
Together with Jimms PC, Mad Catz put on a demo display where gamers could get hands-on with the F.R.E.Q. 5 PC gaming headset, and the premier Xbox 360 headset, the Warhead 7.1! Gamers could also put their paws on our range of PC mice to find their optimal gaming mouse, whether a R.A.T. 3 or the extreme M.M.O. 7.
In Jimms PC side booth, Mad Catz hosted a Damage Inc. Pacific Squadron WWII tournament. Competitors were given 5 minutes of dogfighting to see who could make the most kills. At the end of the competition, Verner Henrikssson and Karu Rauteva were tied for the lead. A nail-biting play-off ensued to crown the king of the skies, with Verner taking home the grand prize, the Damage Inc. Pacific Squadron WWII Collector’s Edition.
In the ASUS ROG StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty tournament, Western Wolves’ Rickard “SortOf” Bergman advanced to the final round, and ended the tournament locked in a four-way tie for 5th place. Checkout the Western Wolves site for a more in-depth recap of SortOf’s matches at Assembly Summer 2012.
