This weekend will see the final tournament of the European 2012 summer season, with DreamHack returning to Valencia, Spain, for the DreamHack EIZO Open. The incomparably beautiful Valencia is quickly becoming Spain’s gaming capital, so it is no surprise that DreamHack will be back for thirds.

The combination of action, quality talent, masses of fans, and a shed-load of cash should result in an exhilarating weekend, providing plenty of entertainment for everyone involved. 64 of the finest StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty  players in the world will be competing for their share of €21,500, including former DreamHack champion “HerO,” his Korean countryman “TaeJa,” the formidable French superstar “Stephano,” coming off the heels of his StarCraft II  World Championship Series Europe victory, and local favorites the Durán brothers, “LucifroN” and “VortiX.”

Mad Catz & Western Wolves' StarCraft II Pro Player Rickard "SortOf" BergmanMad Catz and Western Wolves‘ Swedish sensation, Rickard “SortOf” Bergman, will leave for Spain with mixed emotions after the World Championships in Stockholm, since despite failing to claim the trophy on home soil, he did score some incredible victories against other popular players during the tournament. “SortOf” will face some tough challenges at DreamHack Valencia, but he is equally as dangerous to his opponents, and they know it!

Along with the huge StarCraft II  tournament, DreamHack Valencia will play host to some of Europe’s fighting-game competitors, including Mad Catz and WATCHDAMATCH‘s Cuong “Cuongster” Cao, Olivier “Luffy” Hay, and Wilfried “Will2Pac” Jean-Baptiste! The WDM.MCZ trio will all be going for the Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012  title, with “Cuongster” looking to walk away with the championship for a second year in a row.

The Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012  tournament will be streamed on armshouse.tv, where host James “WorstGiefEVER” Bardolph will be joined by Mad Catz and WATCHDAMATCH’s Necromina!

We wish the best of luck to all competitors this weekend, but especially good luck to all of the Mad Catz-sponsored players! Visit the official DreamHack site for more information about the DreamHack EIZO Open.
